Samuel Colt - A Guided Tour In-Person

Announcing a collaboration between RFL and the Bristol Historical & Preservation Society.

If you've ever wondered about Colt State Park, this free, in-person event will answer all your questions. Samuel Pomeroy Colt loved to collect art, cars, and women. He knew how to make money too. From scandal to success, Colt’s Gilded Age-era life was filled with fascinating twists and turns.

In this in-person virtual guided tour, we’ll “walk” around Colt’s gentleman’s farm, now known as Colt State Park, making additional “stops” at Linden place, his mansion on Fifth Avenue in NYC, and his fishing camp on Kidney Pond, ME. Along the way, we’ll watch Colt’s US Rubber Company on Wood Street grow to play a prominent role in World War II.

Presented by Lynn Smith, volunteer tour guide at Linden Place & board member at the BHPS.
