Film Night: Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451

Film Night: Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451 In-Person

Ray Bradbury's science fiction masterpiece about a future without books takes on a chillingly realistic dimension in this film classic directed by one of the most important screen innovators of all time, the late François Truffaut.

Shot by cinematographer Nicolas Roeg, this was Truffaut's first film in color. It’s also his only non French-language film. The music score for the 1966 film was composed by Bernard Herrmann. The score was conducted by William Stromberg and performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Fahrenheit 451 was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 27th Venice International Film Festival.

Starring: Julie Christie and Oskar Werner.
