LGBTQ 101 In-Person
This is an introductory program for community members to learn the most basic info -- and to be able to comfortably ask questions about -- LGBTQ individuals/community.
LGBTQ 101 is a conversation on the lived experiences of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. The session focuses on understanding LGBTQ terminology, identities, health disparities, and experiences in the context of contemporary America, as well as suggestions on how to build strong allyship practices to support the LGBTQ people in your personal and professional life.
Quinten Foster (he/they), is the Director of Transgender Whole Healthcare at East Bay Community Action Program. They are a dynamic and engaging speaker, who combines their lived experience as a transgender person with professional expertise in integrated healthcare, psychology, and DEIB to create learning opportunities centering intersectionality and equity. They believe in the power of storytelling, and utilize their own story to re-humanize complex culture conversations.
