This psychological thriller is based on Patricia Highsmith's immortal novel of the same name. In late 1950s New York, a young underachiever named Tom Ripley is sent to Italy to retrieve Dickie Greenleaf, a rich and spoiled millionaire playboy. But when the errand fails, Ripley takes extreme measures.
The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Jude Law. Also starring: Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
